I grew up in a small town in Michigan where I attended Central Michigan University. I majored in Math and minored in English. I also have a Master's in Math Education from Fresno Pacific University.
After graduating college, I moved to Bakersfield, CA in 2015 where I taught high school math and AVID. I then moved to Visalia, CA after meeting my now husband and started teaching in Tulare, CA in 2021.
We then moved to Asheville in 2023 where I started working at BCEC/BCCI. We welcomed our son, Theodore, in July of 2024.
My favorite part about teaching and why I still teach is seeing the growth in my students from year to year. It brings me so much joy to see the learning that happens not only in math but also just in life. As a teacher, I hope my students learn to be compassionate, inquisitive, strong people.
In my spare time, I love to travel with my husband, our son Theo, and our dog Copper. I also love to read, hike, and watch musicals.
I look forward to a great year ahead!
