Ms. Smith believes in nurturing curiosity, the power of imagination, that there's more than one way to read, and that the library is for everyone!
Ms. Smith is a National Board certified librarian and NC Global Educator. She has been a fellow with the World Council on Intercultural and Global Competence, and a UNC-CH World View Fellow.
Loving the mountains she calls home, Ms. Smith serves her community on the boards of Asheville GreenWorks and Asheville/Buncombe Public Library. She is passionate about the care of our planet, and likes to hike, bike and paddle.
Penelope is a Looney Bird with a naughty streak. She is passionate about bird seed and reading. She loves to make new friends and play in her bird bath.
