Leah Chapman

Hi, there! I am so happy to meet you! 😃

My name is Leah Chapman, and I am brand new to Buncombe County Schools and Leicester Elementary! My family and I recently relocated to Asheville from the Triangle area of North Carolina, where I taught in both the private and public school sectors for the past 12 years. During that time I taught 3rd grade, 4th grade and spent 4 years as a school administrator. 

Originally from North Georgia, I graduated from Fannin County High School in Blue Ridge in 1997. I have a bachelor's degree in Interdisciplinary Studies K-8 Education from Western Governors University and a Master's of Education degree in Educational Adminstration from Grand Canyon University .  I love all parts of education, but my favorite thing about being a teacher is building strong relationships  with students and helping them believe that they can achieve anything with just a little hard work and a LOT of determination! 🌟

My husband Jeremiah and I been married for 29 years. We have three adult children: 

• Arriah- and her husband Brandon who live and serve as missionaries in Tokyo, Japan!

• Noah- who lives here in North Carolina.                                                                                          

• Hannah- who lives and works in Fort Myers Florida while attending Florida Southwestern State College.            

As a family we love travel, watch movies, explore new places and serve our local church. 

I am so excited to be a part of Leicester Elementary and the greater Leicester community. I can't wait to see all of the learning and FUN we are going to have this year. GO WILDCATS! 🐾💙🐾
