Laura McCall

Welcome to 5th grade at Fairview Elementary School! 

I started teaching in 2007 and have been here at Fairview since 2016. I love teaching 5th grade, but I have also taught kindergarten, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th.  I received my National Board Certification in Literacy in 2020.  I believe that students learn best when they get many opportunities to communicate with each other and to have hands-on experiences. 

I attended UNC-Chapel Hill as an undergraduate (go Tar Heels!) and did my teaching certification at North Carolina Central University. My family lives here in Fairview. Both of my children went to Fairview Elementary and now attend A.C. Reynolds High School. My son, Jackson, is a senior this year and my daughter, Abigail, is in 10th grade.  

5th grade is an exciting year, and I look forward to all of the learning that will take place this school year!
