Welcome to my classroom! My name is Kelsey Rankin and I have been teaching at Erwin High since 2014. I am a product of BCS myself and graduated in 2008 from A.C. Reynolds High School. After taking a couple of years off from school, I went back and graduated from WCU in 2014 with a B.S. in Education and a B.A. in English. My husband and I have been married since May of 2022, and we have two dogs at home named Honey and Abby.
Teaching is my passion because I believe that as teachers, we can be one of the most impactful people in a child's life. It is our job to prepare them for adult life outside of the classroom as well as teach them the fundamentals they need to know before they graduate into a career or higher education. In English, we like to foster communication skills that will aid students in whatever direction they go after they leave us.
We use Google Classroom for our LMS, which students will receive the information for the first week of class. We will also be utilizing Remind for reminders and other digital tools throughout the semester. I look forward to meeting you!
