Mrs. Dodge on an a trip to Ecuador which included the Galapagos!
My name is Katrina Dodge and I teach 7th grade Science. I have been teaching since 2006 and bring a wide range of experiences to the classroom. I grew up in Washington State and earned my Bachelor of Science with a focus in Animal Science from Washington State University, followed by a Master’s in Teaching from City University. As part of a military family, I have had the opportunity to teach in five different states, gaining valuable perspective from diverse school communities. Since 2020, I have been proud to teach in North Carolina and continue to enjoy helping students build curiosity and confidence in science.
I strongly believe that all students are capable of success when they are given the right support, encouragement, and opportunities to grow. Learning is a process, and effort, perseverance, and a positive mindset play a powerful role in achievement. My goal is to create a classroom environment where students feel safe to ask questions, take risks, and learn from mistakes as they develop both academically and personally.
Success is not about being the best—it’s about being willing to try, learn, and keep going.
