I received a Bachelor’s of Science in Musical Theater and Dance in 2003 from Lees McRae College (Banner Elk, NC).

I received a Masters of Education and certification in PK – 6th Grade in 2012 from Marymount University (Arlington, VA).

Greetings!

My name is Mrs. Katie Ferguson and I am super excited to be your student’s teacher this year! I recently moved to Asheville with my husband, Mr. Ferguson, and our dogs Perry, Edward and Mabel.

I was born and raised in Charlotte, NC. My background is in Musical Theater and Dance, and before I became a teacher I performed up and down the East Coast. I even worked and performed at Disney and Universal! However, I left the entertainment industry and began training to be a teacher in 2010.

This will be my 16th year teaching! I still enjoy singing, dancing, and performing. I also enjoy reading, visiting theme parks, and finding new binge-worthy shows on Netflix!

I am so excited to make this school year our best year yet!
