Julie Smith

5th Grade Math and Science

I am a graduate of Western Carolina University with a BA and MAED in Elementary Education.    This year will be my twenty-seventh year teaching.  

I started teaching in 1999 in Haywood County Schools.  I have taught 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 5th and 6th grade while in Haywood County.  I joined Buncombe County Schools in 2021 where I taught 6th grade Math, Science, and Social Studies before moving to 5th grade in 2024.   This year I will be teaching 5th Grade Math and Science.    

I enjoy reading, crocheting, and spending time with my family.  We love to take family road trips.  Our favorite place to visit is anywhere out west.
