Mrs. Cortés - 7th Grade Science
Welcome to 7th Grade!
I began my teaching career at Enka Middle School from 2012-2017, happily returning in 2022, after moving away and teaching in PA for 5 years.
I earned my degree from Brevard College and my teaching certification from University of North Carolina @ Asheville
I have taught grades 5-9 science and love the middle school ages. The students are still fun and curious!
I am available by email (joann.cortes@bcsemail.org) and for pre-arranged extra help in the mornings.
Much of the class information will be posted on Google Classroom
Some more about me:
I moved to Western North Carolina in 1997 and consider the Appalachian mountains home
I love to spend my time outside of school relaxing, traveling, eating and cooking with my husband and 2 teens, and cuddling with my cats. I also love music and play piano, guitar, and banjo
