Jessica Telfair

Hi!  

My name is Jessica Telfair. I am  the part time School Counselor for North Buncombe  and West Buncombe Elementary Schools! I have been working in BCS schools as a school counselor since 2006.

I have a Bachelor's degree in Body Mind Studies from Naropa University with a concentration in dance/movement therapy and expressive arts. I earned my Masters in Education-School Counseling from Western Carolina University. I also have my National Board Certification and have worked as a school based therapist. 

 I grew up in California & New Jersey, and as an adult, lived in Colorado, New Mexico & Alabama, before making WNC my home in 1998. Outside of school,  I love hiking, camping, gardening and "lake life". I also love to travel,  dance and learn about other cultures through their music, food and arts.  

I love working with students, staff, and parents! I believe every person is an important member of our school community and has the right to feel safe, welcome, wanted and supported. I am   looking forward to this new year!
