Hi families!
My name is Jessica Mintz, and I am so excited to be with the wonderful team at Oakley Elementary School this year as a first-grade teacher!
I was born and raised in Robbinsville, NC, where I attended Robbinsville Elementary, Middle, and High Schools. After highschool, I went on to Western Carolina University, where I earned my bachalor's degree in Elementary Education. I later earned my master's degree in Elementary Curriculum at WCU.
I began teaching at Robbinsville Elementary School in 2004, and over the past 21 years, I have had the joy of teaching Kindergarten, first grade, second grade, and fourth grade. Teaching and working with children is truly my passion - those lightbulb moments when students discover something new and the chance to build relationships with them are what make teaching so meaningful to me.
This year, I will be using ClassDojo to support communication between home and school. I look forward to partnering with you to make this a wonderful year. I am excited to get to know my students and families, and I cannot wait to see all the learning and growth that will happen in first grade!
