First Grade Teacher

Greetings Families and welcome to my first grade classroom!

My Name is Jennifer Griffin and I am a Haw Creek native. I grew up in the neighborhood and attended Haw Creek Elementary as a student for grades kindergarten through sixth. I graduated from Reynolds High School and then attended the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. While at UNCG, I obtained degrees in both elementary education as well as history. I am also a Nationally Board Certified Teacher.

After college I began teaching in Greensboro, N.C. I taught at a wonderful school there for 9 years before relocating back to Asheville in 2013. I have been teaching at Haw Creek ever since and it has been an absolute joy to be back in the building were my love of learning was initially ignited!

As a first grade teacher it is my goal to cultivate a love of learning in our youngest students. It is my hope that this love of learning stays with them throughout their entire educational career.
