Mr. James Crabtree

Mr. James Crabtree, High School Teacher

Mr. Crabtree began his teaching career at Wenonah High School in Birmingham, Alabama in 1995.  He moved to Asheville in 2001 and taught at Enka Middle School for 21 years before accepting an offer to teach at the Progressive Education Program.  He is a two-time teacher of the year, and recipient of the prestigious Ruth Henderson Award for altruistic education.  He has a bachelor's degree from Auburn University and received his Master's Degree from the University of Alabama.  In addition to teaching, he enjoys playing music, hiking, and is a long time participant in Asheville's performing arts community.
