James Bond

• Hello! My name is James Bond and I will be teaching Science and Social Studies for 6th grade at Eblen Intermediate School this year! I graduated from Western Carolina University in May of 2022. I have a Bachelors Degree in General Education for K-6 and a minor in History. My student teaching was completed at Fletcher elementary in a 5th grade class and I was a substitute teacher for all grades in the Buncombe district before I started teaching in 2023.

• A little bit about me is that I grew up in the Asheville/Candler area and went to Hominy Valley Elementary School, Enka Middle School and Enka High School. I have 3 dogs and 2 cats. I am also engaged to my high school sweetheart.

  • I realized that I wanted to become a teacher when I was in the 8th grade. It had always been in the back on my mind because my Mom was a teacher and I saw all of the amazing things she did. It clicked for me in 8th grade because a teacher on my team made me realize that it could be fun and fulfilling to teach kids. My goal as a teacher is to make sure that all students can feel safe and enjoy learning while they are at school. There is nothing more fulfilling than seeing a students face light up when they learn something new and interesting.

  • In my classroom I plan on using google classroom to post student work and will be using Dojo to stay in contact with parents.
