Mrs. Heather Neal teaches 5th-grade language arts and social studies and loves teaching and learning with her students. This year, Mrs. Neal is leading her 29th group of fifth-grade students in the North Buncombe district. She is one of the “originals” who helped open North Windy Ridge in 2022, and she greatly enjoys teaching in the same town where she lives and seeing her students grow into adulthood. Mrs. Neal’s math & science partner is Mr. Devon Prott.

Mrs. Neal and her husband have two young adult daughters and two rambunctious boxers. Her family enjoys volunteering at Calvary Food Pantry and being involved with their church. Mrs. Neal loves to stay connected with friends and with nature. Tent camping, picnicking, or hiking are her favorite ways to spend time with family or friends. Reading in her hammock beneath the trees makes for a terrific day. Mrs. Neal hopes to pass on her love of reading and learning about history to her students. She also tries to demonstrate that every person can make a positive difference in our world.
