Hello! I am excited to serve as one of two school counselors here at Cane Creek Middle School. For the 2026-2027 school year, I will work with all of eighth grade and with the Tatum/Jacobelly team.
Long ago, I earned my M.Ed. in School Counseling from the University of Mississippi. It was there that I developed a respect for Carl Rogers' person-centered approach to therapy. My goal is to act as a supportive, non-judgmental guide. I also hold a B.A. in History from UM and recently completed an M.A. in History through UNCW. One day, I might buy a fedora and follow in the footsteps of Indiana Jones...
I am originally from South Carolina, but I spent my latter years of high school and college in Mississippi. I came to North Carolina by way of summer camp (Rockmont) and fell in love with the area. I have a blended family of six, as well as a mutt of a dog named Willow. My wife Courtney is a BCS employee, and our 4 children also attend BCS schools.
I am a proud product of public education. I have always enjoyed school, and serving as a counselor allows me to live and work in a world that I always thrived in. Working in schools also allows me to be roughly on the same schedule as my family. When school is out, we stay on the run with sports and other extracurriculars. We enjoy camping and finding ways to be as active as possible.
