Ms. Eyrie Sandland
Speech-Language Pathologist
Hello! I am Eyrie Sandland, and I am a speech and language pathologist with Buncombe County Schools. I was born in Asheville and have lived here all my life. I went to West Buncombe Elementary School, Erwin Middle School, and graduated in 2002 from Erwin High School. I received my bachelor's degree from UNC-Asheville in psychology in 2006. After working in mental health for a few years, I decided to follow my passion of helping children in a more streamlined way, so I applied to and was accepted into the speech-language pathology graduate program at Western Carolina University. I became a licensed SLP in 2011.
When I'm not at work, you can find me outside walking or hiking with my dogs and husband. I also love spending time with lifelong friends, making art, playing video games, and watching scary movies!
Being an SLP has been the greatest challenge and greatest reward of my adulthood! The students I serve truly are the joy of my job, and I enjoy working with them, their teachers, and their families to engineer positive communication environments where children feel safe and confident when using their speech and language skills!
