Academics

We encourage parents/guardians to use the Parent Portal to stay informed and engaged with your student's progress throughout the school year. 

To create your account:

• Go to portalaccess.ncsis.gov

• Choose Buncombe County Schools from the dropdown menu

• Use your student's UID (lunch number)

• Follow the instructions to verify your identity.

• Receive an activation key and link to complete the parent portal setup.

• Once your account is established, download the Campus Parent App.

Here are the minimum requirements for an NC high school diploma:

English 4 credits total (English I, II, III (or equivalent), and IV (or equivalent)

Math 4 credits total (Math 1, Math 2, Math 3 + one more) 

Science 3 credits total (a physical science, Biology, Environmental)

Social Studies 4 credits total (World, Civics, American, and Economics/Personal Finance)

Health & PE 1 credit total

Electives 6+ total credits
