About Ms. Parker

I'm very excited to be returning to NDA as the BIO111/112 and Earth & Environmental science teacher this year!

Teaching is a second career for me. I previously worked in the animal field as a veterinary technician and animal trainer, so I bring a lot of experience working in the field of science to the classroom. I graduated with my B.S. in Environmental Science from UNCA in 2006. My love for science led me to seek a career in teaching, so I returned to school to get my MAT in Biology and Comprehensive Science from WCU in 2012. I have been teaching high school biology and earth science since 2013. This past year, I completed a graduate certificate in biology from WKU in order to teach the BIO111/112 classes at NDA.

I love teaching all things science, and that means experiencing science! I try to incorporate as many hands-on labs, projects, and experiential learning into the classroom environment as possible. Students should be prepared to get their hands dirty!
