Mrs. Connie Metcalf
Welcome!
I can't wait to embark on this years second grade adventures with your child! I am a Western North Carolina native and attended Madison County Schools. I attended Mars Hill College (now Mars Hill University) to earn my Bachelors degree and began my journey in public education in 2007. I spent nine years teaching in Madison County and in 2017 came to Buncombe County Schools. I spent a year at North Buncombe Elementary and the next at North Windy Ridge before being hired at Barnardsville Elementary. Over the course of my career, I have taught every grade K-5 with the greatest concentrations being in 4th and 2nd grades.
Teaching at BES has been a unique experience. Being able to be a part of this sweet little school is like being part of a family. At Barnardsville, the benefits of being a member of this school community can be seen in the love and attention that is given to each individual. There is a special focus to strive and meet the needs of each child and help them grow. This environment makes it possible for me to pursue my passion of teaching children to explore their curiosity and develop a foundation as a life long learner.
