Welcome!

Over the years, the band program at AC Reynolds High School has developed a long tradition of excellence in music and has earned a reputation as one of our state's finest performing ensembles. I have been a part of the AC Reynolds district band program for the past 20 years, and the many students I have taught, and families I have come to know from this community have a special place in my heart. I am honored to be the conductor of the AC Reynolds Rocket Bands. Teaching is a fantastic career that I treasure (never a dull moment), and each day is a gift to work with these talented young musicians. 

Personal Life:

I grew up in Winston-Salem, NC, and have lived in Asheville, NC, since 2002. My wife and three sons enjoy outdoor sports such as rock climbing, snow and water skiing, snowboarding, wakeboarding, wake surfing, mountain biking, hiking, and camping. As an Eagle Scout and adult scout leader, I have backpacked and camped on many adventures and treks with my boys, including hundreds of miles of the Appalachian Trail. I enjoy playing saxophone, bassoon, guitar, and many other instruments. I have played in many live events and made studio recordings while in WNC. 

Educator life:

As a conductor and music educator, I have been honored to guest conduct All-District and All-County bands throughout KY, NC, and TN. I have also adjudicated in NCMEA MPA events in addition to other festivals. Ensembles under my direction have scored consistently well in state and national band festivals. Most recently, our concert ensembles performed at Carnegie Hall on April 3rd, 8:00 PM 2023. Our students experienced the trip of a lifetime.
