Mrs. Christy Jones Woppman
My name is Christy Woppman, and I have been a music educator for 29 years. I have taught Chorus and General Music at Koontz Intermediate School since 2013. My goal is to inspire students to develop the same love and appreciation for music and the arts that have enriched my life since childhood.
I hold degrees in Music Education and Vocal Performance from the University of South Carolina. I have performed with choirs and as a soloist across the United States and in Europe. I am certified to teach Music and Art (K–12) and am a National Board Certified Teacher in Early and Middle Childhood Music.
I am proud of my students' accomplishments. Through their hard work, dedication, and commitment to excellence, my choral ensembles have consistently earned Superior ratings at the North Carolina Music Performance Adjudications and the Carowinds Festival of Music. While these recognitions are rewarding, my greatest joy is watching students grow in confidence, musicianship, and their appreciation for music.
