Entrepreneurship I Standard and Honors Fall 2022

This course exposes students to the concept of entrepreneurship and allows students to create a business and write a "Lean Business Plan" for that business. Students will explore ethics, idea generation, marketing strategies, channels of distribution, business costs and expenses, pricing, and key business metrics.

Student proof of learning (POL) will be demonstrated through a performance-based measurement (PBM) that will be completed during the semester. Students will create a Lean Canvas Business Model (LCBM) to represent their business idea and present their business idea at the end of the course.

This course will have VERY few quizzes and tests, if any, since students will be evaluated based on daily classwork, projects, and the Lean Canvas Business Model.

Entrepreneurship II Inherently Honors Spring 2023

This is the second level course for Entrepreneurship and students must pass Entrepreneurship I as a prerequisite. This course will be the "completer" for the "Business Management and Administration" pathway.

Students will use the business they created in Entrepreneurship I for their Lean Canvas Business Model to write a complete business plan. This course exposes students to business planning, risk, the costs of starting and running a business, marketing, market analysis, accounting, and financial controls.

Student proof of learning (POL) will be demonstrated through a performance-based measurement (PBM) that will be completed during the semester. Students will create a business plan and pitch/present their business idea at the end of the course.

This course will have VERY few quizzes and tests, if any, since students will be evaluated based on daily classwork, projects, and the Lean Canvas Business Model.

  • Marketing Standard and Honors Fall 2022

    • This course will expose students to the concepts of marketing and the role it plays in business. Students will explore marketing functions, marketing strategies, product/brand management, promotion and selling, pricing, channels of distribution, and supply chain management.

    • Student Proof of Learning (POL) will be demonstrated through a performance-based measurement (PBM). The student will create a semester-long project that culminates in a presentation at the end of the course.

    • This course will have VERY few quizzes and tests, if any, since students will be evaluated based on daily classwork, projects, and the semester-long marketing project.


  • Hospitality and Tourism Standard and Honors Spring 2023

    • In this course, students acquire understanding of the economic impact and marketing strategies for hospitality and tourism destinations. Emphasis is on destination complexity, customer relations, economics, legal and ethical responsibilities, safety and security, and tourism promotion.

    • Since the hospitality and tourism industry is such a large part of our local economy we will be examining local businesses to understand how they operate and fit into our local economy.


  • Career Management Standard and Honors Spring 2023

    • This course prepares students to locate, secure, keep, and change careers. Emphasis is placed on self-assessment of characteristics, interests, and values; education and career exploration; evaluation of career information and creation of a career plan. Skills learned in this course include, but are not limited to communications, interpersonal skills, problem solving, personal management, teamwork, and English language arts.
