Entrepreneurship I Honors
This course introduces students to the concept of entrepreneurship, enabling them to create a business and develop a "Lean Business Plan" for it. Students will explore ethics, idea generation, marketing strategies, distribution channels, business costs and expenses, pricing, and key business metrics.
Student proof of learning will be demonstrated through a performance-based measurement (PBM) completed during the semester. Students will create a Lean Canvas Business Model (LCBM) to represent their business idea and present it at the end of the course.
Entrepreneurship II Honors
This is the second-level course for Entrepreneurship, and students must pass Entrepreneurship I as a prerequisite. This course will be the "completer" for the "Business Management and Administration" pathway.
Students will write a complete business plan to use the business they created in Entrepreneurship I for their Lean Canvas Business Model. This course exposes students to business planning, risk, the costs of starting and running a business, marketing, market analysis, accounting, and financial controls.
Student proof of learning will be demonstrated through a performance-based measurement (PBM) completed during the semester. Students will create a business plan and pitch/present their business ideas at the end of the course.
This course will have few quizzes and tests since students will be evaluated based on daily classwork, projects, and the Lean Canvas Business Model.
Marketing Honors
This course will expose students to the concepts of marketing and the role it plays in business. Students will explore marketing functions, strategies, product/brand management, promotion and selling, pricing, channels of distribution, and supply chain management.
Student Proof of Learning will be demonstrated through a performance-based measurement (PBM). The student will create a semester-long project culminating in a presentation at the end of the course.
This course will have few quizzes and tests since students will be evaluated based on daily classwork, projects, and the semester-long marketing project.
Prepare for postsecondary education and future careers by analyzing selected career pathways. Experience real-world application of course/pathway content through a work-based learning lens acquired by utilizing employability skills in an authentic workforce activity. Evaluate and plan for a postsecondary career while educating others. Gain the knowledge and skills for careers in the pathway of choice.
Students must have completed a pathway and have teacher permission to take the course.
