National Geographic Slingshot Challenge

The Slingshot Challenge is about sharing your ideas for slingshotting our planet forward.

We’re challenging 13-18 year olds like yourself to create a one-minute video with your solution to our current environmental problems. From cleaning our air to reviving our ocean, we want to see what you’re doing, or what you think we all should be doing, to create a better world for everyone.

North Carolina School of Science and Mathematics: Summer Accelerator 7th-9th

Accelerator for 7th-9th graders is offered online and in-person at NCSSM in Durham, NC and Morganton, NC. When you apply, you have the opportunity to choose your first and second choice courses. You will have the chance to choose one course for each week should you wish to apply for more than one course over the summer.

Duke Pre-College Middle School Program

The Duke Pre-College Middle School Program provides advanced academic and career exploration opportunities to high-performing students currently in grades 6-8. Our courses are designed to give students exposure to subjects and courses beyond the average school curriculum while connecting them with like-minded peers from around the world.

Clemson C-CATS

Clemson’s Challenge for Academically Talented Students (C-CATS) recruits outstanding students from SC, NC and GA to participate in high-powered weekend retreats. Through team-building and academic sessions, students gain leadership skills, make lasting friendships, and improve their ability to think clearly and perform under pressure, all while having the time of their lives!

Virtual Weekend Academies by Harvard Student Agencies:

Designed with high school students in mind, The Academies are taught by Harvard undergraduate students to help orient you to a pre-professional field of your choice. The virtual weekend academies are the perfect supplement to your school year. Gain insights in the fields you are interested in and build confidence in the decisions you'll make as you transition into college and your career.
