Mrs. Jacobelly at a fancy dinner in Italy!
Hi! I am excited to be your child's ELA teacher this year! I have been working for Buncombe County Schools since 1998. I started out at Erwin Middle School, then moved here to Cane Creek Middle. In my teaching career I have taught 6th grade through 12th grade but most of my experience has been in 6th and 7th grades.
I grew up in Worthington, Ohio which is a suburb of Columbus so that makes me a die hard Buckeyes fan. Don't hate me for it. I went to Ohio Northern University as an English major and went to the University of Alaska Southeast to earn a Master of Arts in Teaching Degree. My first teaching job was in an Eskimo village on the Bering Sea Coast!
My family includes my husband and two quickly aging teenage daughters. I should not forget the two dogs, JJ and Charlie, who probably are barking at the Amazon driver as we speak. We love to travel, play and watch soccer, shop, read, and generally be lazy watching tv.
This year you can expect your student to be happily challenged. There is homework, but nothing too difficult, and I like to have a good time in our classes.
Welcome!
