Calondra McCarter

How far you go in life depends on your being tender with the young, compassionate with the aged, sympathetic with the striving and tolerant of the weak and strong. Because someday in your life you will have been all of these.

My name is Calondra McCarter, and I am honored to say that I am a Special Education Educator in the State of North Carolina. Christa McAuliffe once said, "I touch the future - I teach." This is a powerful statement because my role as an educator is to educate and inspire the future leaders of the world.

My passion for teaching developed while I was a Deputy Court Reporter. I realized that many children that were coming before me were lost, full of rage, neglected and uneducated. Some had special needs that seemed to be overlooked. I left that career to dedicate my life to helping children understand that there is a better way and that learning can be fun!

I have been teaching since 1992 in the private and public sector. My background includes stenography, a degree in Interdisciplinary Studies from Hodges University and UNCA for my teaching licensure. I have done coursework towards an MBA; however, Special Education is my heart.

My students and I use Google Classroom for our Learning Management System.

Our class motto is:

"Good, better, best...NEVER LET IT REST!!!"
