TEACHERS

PBIS is the behavioral arm of MTSS.

It is the expectation of school administration that all teachers participate in PBIS by having PRIDE-aligned classroom expectations, using the PBIS Rewards system to reinforce positive behavior, following guidelines for consequences for negative actions, and guiding students through homeroom activities. Each of those areas is addressed in that order below.

Classroom Expectations

Please follow the directions to create your PRIDE-aligned classroom expectations.

  1. Click this link to make a copy of the template.

1A. It is suggested that you rename this copy and move it to a logical place in your Google Drive folders so that you can find it later.

  1. On Slide #1, click the text box that says "Teacher Name Here" and enter your name as you prefer it.

  2. Each slide is pre-loaded with the expectations from the PRIDE matrix for "Instructional Spaces."

  3. Optionally, you may add 2-4 more expectations unique to your classroom. Click inside the text box with the expectations bullet pointed and hit enter to add more. Statements should be positively stated, i.e. "No street shoes on the gym floor" does not work and should be restated to "Wear appropriate gym shoes only."

  4. If your statements make the text or the text box need resizing, you can do what you need to do. Just be aware that the background cannot be changed.

  5. To print these in color, please share your newly made document to Laina Stapleton. You can share through the document, email the link, email an attachment...whatever works for you. Laina will put them in your mailbox ASAP.
