Burley Classroom

Thank you for visiting the Burley Classroom website! I'm so excited to be a part of Buncombe County Schools. 2023-2024 will be my sixth year teaching, my second year in BCS, and my first year teaching second grade!

I am a product of Brevard Public Schools, sandwiched between Orlando and the ocean, and I spent the first five years of my career there. I have a degree in psychology and child development from Florida State University and I earned my professional teaching certification in the areas of social sciences, primary education, and theatre. I moved to North Carolina in July 2022 and got engaged to the kindest person I know (a former teacher of the year!) in September 2023. My dog, my fiancè, and I are loving the weather, the mountains, and the waterfalls up here in WNC.

I am passionate about providing young scholars with a safe, supportive learning environment in which they can grow academically, socially, and emotionally. I strive to be a source of positivity for my students and I hope to help build their foundation for a lifetime love of learning. I love my job, especially when it allows me to help remarkable young people on their paths to success, whatever that may look like.
