Becky Barbee

Hello! I have been teaching at Enka High School since 2020, and with Buncombe County School since 2017. I am proud to be a Jet!! I began teaching English language learners in Anson County in 1998, and tutored privately for 15 years. I am certified in Special Education and Middle Grades Math. At Enka High, I have been an inclusion teacher in English and Math, a resource math teacher, and an OCS teacher.

I attended public schools in Ohio and graduated from Asbury College (now Asbury University) in Kentucky. I have taken graduate classes at UNCC and WCU. I love teaching, especially watching students learn and have those “aha” moments when they suddenly understand the content! Supporting students who encounter academic difficulties is one of my strengths. I love helping all students, regardless of their abilities.

We will be using Google classroom for announcements, notes, and assignments. Sign up to join my google classroom as a parent, and be sure you access Power School. Many 9th grade students don’t realize they must work to pass the classes required for graduation.
