Welcome to 1st grade!
My name is Annaka Michael and I will be your child's 1st-grade teacher. I graduated from Western Carolina University with a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education with a concentration in mathematics. I have been teaching since 2015. I have been a part of Buncombe County School since 2017. I taught third-grade for 6 years and this will be my second year in first-grade. I am very excited to be joining Hominy Valley Elementary this year. To make the year a successful year, I hope that each of us (parent, teacher, and student) can work together as a team. We are going to have a lot of fun learning and growing in all academic areas together this year!
