Andy Wallace, English Teacher

I am so pleased to be a part of the ACRHS community.  Each year represents new opportunities for students to strengthen their voice and character as they explore compelling texts and craft engaging writing in the English classroom.

I have taught at the middle and high school level since 2001, in a variety of schools, both public and private.  I have had the privilege of learning alongside students in Social Studies and English classes. One of my favorite opportunities as an English teacher is helping students develop their confidence as writers.

I attended public schools as I grew up, graduating from Rome Free Academy in Rome, NY in 1991.  I value the important role that public schools play in fostering the skills and habits of mind that are needed to enrich and strengthen our society.

In my classroom students will practice their communication skills in a variety of ways, find that humor and empathy are invaluable in the learning process, and challenge themselves to stretch outside their comfort zone.  We will have fun and we will take pride in the work that we do together!

We will employ Google Classroom as our main system of organizing class content and assignments.
