I graduated from Owen High School in 1989, so I have been a warhorse for most of my life!

I graduated from Appalachian State University as a teaching fellow with my degree and certification to teach secondary mathematics. After my first year of teaching, I returned to OHS and have been teaching here since. A few years later, I graduated from Western Carolina University with my Master's degree.

I am a former Teacher of the Year here at OHS.

I love to see my students learn and grow- especially when they really didn't think they could learn something! I am here to help them!

Yes, I am the wife of Jack Slaughter, who is known in the Valley for coaching football :)
