Ms. Trader

Hello!  My name is Amanda Trader, and I am so excited about my 7th year of teaching 5th Grade English Language Arts and Social Studies at North Windy Ridge!  My partner teacher is Jaclynn Deitz, and she teaches Math and Science.

I grew up in Duluth, Georgia, which is a suburb of Atlanta, Georgia.  After graduating from high school, I earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Women's Studies from the University of Georgia.  In 2010, I moved to Asheville and earned a K-6 Teaching License from the University of North Carolina Asheville.  I completed my student teaching at Emma Elementary in a 1st Grade classroom.

In addition to my years of teaching 5th Grade, I have 2 years of experience as a 1st Grade Teacher Assistant (at Ira B. Jones Elementary) and I have 2 years of experience as a 2nd Grade Teacher Assistant (at Fairview Elementary).  I am certified to teach Kindergarten-6th Grade, as well as Middle School English Language Arts.  I am so excited about my 7th year of teaching 5th grade students!

I look forward to meeting and getting to know each and every one of you.  I believe that each child has specific strengths that he or she has the ability to develop, and I believe that each child has the ability to succeed.  When students, teachers, and parents all work together, it is truly amazing how much a student can learn and grow!
