Amanda Herbert

I have been the School Counselor at Bell Elementary School since 2019. Prior to this I was the part-time School Counselor at both Fairview Elementary School and Avery's Elementary School, also part of Buncombe County Schools. Before I became a School Counselor, I was a secondary school English teacher in London, England for many years. Upon moving back to the United States I took the opportunity to change careers and completed my Masters degree in School Counseling from Western Carolina University. I love working with students and helping them strengthen their learning, social and emotional regulation skills. These are all skills we need to navigate and enjoy the world as best as we can!

I work with students in all settings - the whole classroom, group and individual. My classroom work consists of units on learning skills, empathy, emotional management, problem solving and anti-bullying. Please feel free to contact me at any time if I can help with any student need.
