Welcome! ¡ Bienvenido! Be awesome, be amazing, be you!
A Little About Me
I was at Estes as an ESL Instructional Assistant in 2020-21, and I am excited to be back as an ESL Teacher.
Previously, I taught English for four and a half years in Mexico. Then, I spent 17 years working as a Spanish medical interpreter. Now, I am happy to say that I have circled back to education.
When I am not at school, I enjoy, running, Pilates, reading and spending time with my husband and children (Alexander - 10 and Mathilda - 6).
I am a firm believer in equity in education for all.
Educational Background
I am a product of North Carolina Public Schools. I graduated from Owen High School.
In 2003, I graduated from UNC-Asheville with a B.A. in mathematics and Spanish.
I received my first Master's degree in Spanish with a concentration in the history and theory of translation studies from UNC-Charlotte in 2008, and I will graduate in the spring of 2023 with a second Master's degree in Teaching English as a Second Language (also from UNC-Charlotte).
Education opens doors, and I am here to help my students and their families knock on as many doors as possible.
