Seeking professional development and growing my network of other agriculture education teachers is a priority for me- so I am heavily involved as a member of the North Carolina Agriculture Teacher's Association (NCATA), and the National Association of Agricultural Educators (NAAE).

Along with being an Agriculture Education teacher, I also serve as one of the FFA Advisors for the AC Reynolds FFA Chapter.

FFA seeks to make a positive difference in the lives of students by developing their potential for premier leadership, personal growth, and career success through agriculture education.

I am Adam Byrd and I am one of the Agriculture Teachers and FFA Advisors here at AC Reynolds HS. I am a proud 2012 graduate of North Lenoir High School in Lenoir County. I then attended Wayne Community College from 2012-2014 and North Carolina State University from 2014-2017. I graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture Education with a Minor in Animal Science.
My teaching career began in the fall of 2017 at Madison High School in Marshall, NC. While at Madison, I was proud to coach numerous teams and individuals that experienced great success at the regional, state, and national level.
I began teaching at AC Reynolds in November of 2023. I teach Horticulture and plan to begin offering Natural Resources next school year. I also coach many FFA Career Development and Leadership Development Events throughout the year, such as:
