Third Grade

Michele Jonas

This will be my 21st year in Bedford and most of them have been spent here at WPES! I am incredibly grateful to work at such an extraordinary school. I live in Connecticut with my husband of 23 years, two children, a big black furry creature with paws and the sweetest Coonhound mix. Although I do not live in this community of special families, this school and your children make my commute worth it. I love being a teacher. I thrive on helping children grow confidence, both in school & in themselves, and develop a love of learning.

This will be my 26th year teaching! All 26 of these years have been at West Patent. WOW! I am incredibly grateful to work at such a special school. I am not only a teacher in the Bedford Central School District, but I live in the district as well. West Patent is my neighborhood school and all 3 of my children have had outstanding learning experiences here. Being a part of your child’s educational experience is a responsibility and honor I take very seriously. I love being a teacher. I adore children. I love learning with and from my students.

This is my 21st year at West Patent, and almost my 30th year teaching. I taught second grade for 15 years, first in the Chicago Public Schools and then here in Bedford. I have been teaching third grade for over ten years. I absolutely love what I do and feel so fortunate to be able to teach at such a special school.

Sara Price

This is my eighteenth year as a teacher of Special Education, and my ninth at West Patent Elementary School. I began my teaching career in Raleigh, North Carolina. My vision as a special educator, is to develop well rounded, confident and responsible individuals who aspire to achieve their full potential. My team and I do this by providing a welcoming, happy, safe, and supportive learning environment in which everyone is equal and all achievements are celebrated. West Patent is an incredible school, I feel so fortunate and grateful to be a part of this school community. My husband and I are very proud parents of two wonderful children and to our 3 dogs!

Nikki Garvey

Hello, my name is Nikki Garvey, and I am a Learning Specialist working with grades 2 & 3. I received my Master's degree in Special Education from Simmons College, and a Certificate of Advanced Study in Applied Behavior Analysis from Penn State University. It's hard to believe I have been a teacher for over 28 years! I live in Danbury, CT with my husband and 2 sons.  We are a hockey family and I spend a LOT of time at ice rinks. I am originally from Massachusetts (go Sox!). I have 2 dogs that I adore, named Beamish & Bridget. I love to cook, bake, and decorate my house over and over again.  I'm looking forward to a happy, healthy and productive school year.
