Multiple Ways to Open Calendar

  • Open from any Google app.

  • Go to calendar.google.com

  • Type Cal.new in new tab.

Add a Calendar Event

  1. Go to calendar.google.com.

  2. Click on the + icon in the left corner.

  3. Use the basic menu to create an event or click on More options to add more details.

Access Calendar from Docs, Slides or Sheets

  1. In Docs, Drawings, Sheets, or Slides, look the bar on the side bar. You may need to click on the arrow at the bottom of the page.

  2. Select the Calendar icon.

  3. Click on the box with a diagonal arrow to open Calendar in a new tab.

Tired of Week view? Want to see a single day or a whole month? Here's how.

  1. In the top right, look for the word Month.

  2. Select one of the options from the drop-down menu.

Access Calendar in Google Classroom

Every Google Classroom has a Calendar. This video shows you how to access that Calendar.

  1. Go to the Classwork tab.

  2. Click on the Calendar icon.

Delete Old Google Classroom Calendars

Calendars are automatically created and updated from Google Classroom. Delete these old calendars.

  1. In Calendar.google.com, look at the bottom left side.

  2. Hover the cursor over the name of the class.

  3. Select the X to delete the Calendar.

  4. Confirm that you want to delete the Calendar.

Share a Calendar on Google Site via Parent Square

Add your Calendar to your class Google Site. Any assignment with a due date will be automatically added to the Calendar. Share the Google Site with parents via Parent Square.

  1. In Google Sites, add a Page for Calendar.

  2. On the Insert tab, select Calendar.

  3. Search for and insert the Google Classroom Calendar.

  4. Make sure to Publish the website again.

  5. Share the link with parents via Parent Square.

Add More Options to a Calendar Event

  1. Click on More options when creating a Calendar event.

  2. Add more details such as adding shared files and more.

Find a Time to Schedule a Meeting

Please note that this video was on the Google Certification Level 1 website. To our knowledge, the district is still using the Outlook Calendar.

  1. Add Guests to the Calendar invite.

  2. Select Find time.

Zoom Scheduler Extension

Update: Use the Zoom Scheduler extension to schedule meetings with colleagues, not students. The Meeting is for your Personal Meeting Room. Teachers will want unique meeting their class(es) and should schedule class meetings using Zoom.us.

  1. Install Zoom Scheduler extension.

  2. Go to a new tab and type cal.new.

  3. Type the meeting information and select Make it a Zoom Meeting.

Appointment Slots + Zoom Scheduler

  1. Click on the + in Calendar.google.com and select the + icon.

    • You can also open a new tab and type cal.new.

  2. Change Event to Appointment.

    • Appointments can only be made in an education account.

  3. Set the beginning and end time for all appointments, as well as the duration for each appointment.

  4. Select Make it a Zoom meeting.

  5. Open the Appointment and select Go to appointment page for this calendar.

  6. Share this link with families in Parent Square.
