Create a gradebook


Mass Add Gradebooks

Sign into Aeries

Select Pages

Select Gradebook

Select Mass Add Gradebooks

Select all Periods

Select Next

Select Trimester

Create Gradebooks



Setup Gradebook

Select Term (check mark under associated)

Associate Class (check mark your class)

Gradebook Name (ex: Period 3 or Math)

Select Save

Select Options Tab (3 below will have checkmark)

  • Apply Assignment Scores Immediately

  • Display the Final Marks

(Me & Parents/Students)

  • Hide Dropped Students



Set Your Categories

Naming

Associate Class

Associate Trimester

Set Options


Manage Students

Select Manage Students Tab

Select Add Students

Select Add All Students

Save Changes

Gradebook Dashboard Views

Gradebooks can be viewed as

  • Tiles

  • List

  • Table

The best choice is Table because all the options are within one click.


Manage Gradebook ASsignments


Create Assignments

Click on the gradebook.

Select the tab Assignments.

Click Add Assignment.

Type in the required information

Select Save and Close.


Edit Assignments

Select Manage Gradebook.

Click on the Assignment tab.

Find the assignment and select Edit.

Click Save and Close.


Delete Assignments

Select Manage Gradebook.

Click on the Assignment tab.

Find the assignment and select Edit.

Select Delete.

Click Save and Close.


Enter Scores Using Aeries


Manually Input Scores into Gradebook

From the Aeries Gradebook Dashboard, select Assignment.

Find the assignment.

Next to the student's name, type the score.

Use the arrow key to move down.


Mass Assign Aeries Scores

Click on Class.

If a student was absent, a mark will appear on their cell. Type NA.

Now click on Assignments.

Select the down arrow under the title. A new menu will appear.

Select Mass Assign Values.

Set value for the Number Correct.

Click Save Mass Changes.


Mark Assignment Missing

From the Gradebook Dashboard, click on Class.

Confirm that scores have been added and absent student marked with NA.

Click on the name of the assignment.

Add a checkmark after Is Grading Complete?

A pinkish-orange box will now appear and count as a missing assignment.


Assignment Import Using Google Classroom

Benefits: Control what you import

Disadvantages: Must manually create each assignment. Must import one assignment at a time.


Ensure the Following Google Classroom Assignment Settings Are In Place Prior To Import

Due Date

Graded and Returned

Google Classroom Point Value must match Aeries Gradebook Point Value


Import Scores for Individual Assignment

Return the scores in Google Classroom.

Create an Assignment in Aeries.

Type the name, select the category, and add the points. Select Save and close.

Go to the new Aeries Assignment.

Select the down arrow to show a new menu.

Click on Import from Google.

Select the Google Classroom and assignment.

Click Confirm.

An error will appear if a student does not have a score. Scores for every other student will be imported.


Import Google Forms to Classroom to Aeries

Google Forms are a great way to test students. Learn how to import auto-graded and short answer quizzes into Google Classroom.


Open the Google Form and go to the Responses tab.

Optional: Manually score short answers.

Go to the Google Classroom assignment.

Select Import Grades on the right side.

The second half of the video shows junior high school teachers how to mass Import Assignments from Google into Aeries.

Benefits

  • Import graded and returned assignments from Google Classroom

  • Imports assignment information and scores.

  • Can Close Assignments to stop future import

Disadvantages

  • Must manually change categories and close assignments after import

  • If assignments are not closed, scores can be overwritten


Import Google Classroom Assignments & Scores

Return the scores in Google Classroom.

From the Aeries Gradebook Dashboard, select Import from Google.

Click Import.

Aeries will import the assignment information and the scores.

Only Google Classroom assignments that are worth points will be imported.

Be sure to edit assignments once they are imported for categories if you are using them. Google Classroom does not sort into categories when importing grades unless you do one assignment at a time.

If you do not want previously imported Aeries assignments to be overwritten, check Grading Is Complete on individual assignments in Aeries.


Transer Students


Transfer Students From One Period to Another

From Aeries click Manage Gradebook, then Manage Students.

Find the student, click the drop down and click Transfer.

Select the class and click Transfer.

Click OK and OK again.

Transfer complete.

Select Grades Button

If parent has more than one student:

  • select name at the top

  • switch students

  1. Go to portal.bcsd.com.

  2. Type your BCSD username with @bcsd.com.

  3. Select Next.

  4. Click Sign in with Google.
