Monica Sandoval was born in Guadalajara, Mexico and grew up in Columbus, Indiana. Monica has a passion for healthcare and completed Nursing degrees at Ivy Tech and IUPUC. Today, Monica is an emergency department nurse at Columbus Regional Hospital. Monica is also the proud mother of Santiago, her five year old son.
Monica says her dream has always been to become a nurse. She graduated from Columbus North in 2010. Monica successfully received DACA which changed her immigration status so that she could achieve the necessary nursing licensing. Monica also had to work to pay for her college costs but her strong grades allowed her to win a scholarship that helped financially. Upon reflection of her nine-year journey toward her rewarding job at CRH, Monica says: “Nursing has changed my life in such a positive way that I can’t see myself doing anything else.”
