Ellie Kopp - Choir Director
koppe@bcsc.k12.in.usCurrently in her 3rd year at Columbus North, Ms. Kopp directs Festival Chorus, Concert Choir, North Stars, Vocal Pointe, 25th St Singers, Soundwave Show Choir Band, and teaches Piano & Music Fundamentals. Ms. Kopp was recognized as the 2025-26 Emerging Teacher of the Year by the CNHS Bull Dog Alumni Association. In addition to teaching, Ms. Kopp also performs with the Columbus Indiana Philharmonic Chorus.
A native of Austin, TX, and Stony Brook, NY, Ms. Kopp received her bachelor's degree in Music Education from the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music, where she studied trumpet with minors in Choral Music Education and Conducting. At IU, Ms. Kopp performed with Voces Celestes, University Chorale, Oratorio Chorus, Wind Ensemble, the Marching Hundred, Big Red Basketball Band, and Crabb Soccer Band. She was an active member of the collegiate chapters of the American Choral Directors Association, National Band Association, and National Association for Music Education, where she served as President. Ms. Kopp was recognized as an 2023 Outstanding Future Music Educator by the Indiana Music Educators Association. She completed her student teaching at Shelbyville High School with the SHS choir and band programs.
