All about your STEM Team

Hello! I'm Beth Sharkey, the STEM Coach for Bethany Community School. I have been here at BCS since 2016 when I came aboard as the STEM Specialist and Science Coach. I am also the co-advisor for the LEGO Fun Robotics League and The Green Team. I previously taught for 11 years in the Ansonia school district where I started a Science Lab/STEM Lab in the elementary schools. I am thrilled to engage and inspire students to love all things STEM!

Hello! I'm James Bruni, the Math Coach for BCS. I previously taught at BCS , beginning my educational career in 2007 as a student teacher with Sue Gazsi in third grade. Subsequently, I was hired as an Interventionist and then taught Grade 3 until 2014. Prior to returning to BCS, I served as the Math and Science Specialist at Racebrook School in Orange. I also served as a member of the Bethany Board of Education from 2015 until recently. I am looking forward to returning to my roots here at BCS!

Hello! I'm Michelle Schwenger, the Library Media Specialist and MakerSpace coordinator. I have been teaching at BCS since 2009 when I began as the Talented and Gifted Enrichment Teacher. I was then the Technology Specialist before I became the LMS. I have found that the Learning Commons is the magical place that combines everything I loved about being a classroom teacher, enrichment teacher and technology specialist. Please come check out everything our Learning Commons has to offer! It's the best spot in school!
