ALL STUDENTS need to be logged into Google with their student email. This must be completed prior to MONDAY, September 14th. Only those students that are using their BCPS account will be admitted to the Zoom session. Here are the steps that you will need to follow to ensure that students can access their virtual class:
Open the Google Sites page in the Chrome browser. Look for a colored circle with a letter inside in the top right corner of the screen. Click on this circle - if it does not say the student name with student id number@bcpss.org is the person logged into Google at the top, you will have to choose the student bcpss google account or add another person. To add the student account as a “person”, simply click on +Add at the bottom of the menu and follow the prompts. Always be sure to have this account in the top right corner when logging in to Zoom or accessing Google Classroom. Student Google LoginEmail: Student id#@bcpss.org (contact teacher if you do not have this) See this in a video
On the Google Sites page, go down to the Clever App (a big white C with a blue background) and click on the big C. See this in a video
Go to the Zoom icon under “Daily Apps”. This step may seem unnecessary because you can get to Zoom directly through your teacher link, but it ensures that the student will have an authenticated login. Authenticated logins will be necessary to enter Zoom meetings starting on Monday, September 14th.
Go back to the Google Site tab which should still be open, and click on the teacher’s link to enter the zoom meeting room. If you are successful, you will see a message that says “waiting for host”.If you are unable to access the Zoom session, reach out immediately so that we may troubleshoot the issue with you.
