Congratulations to 7th grader, Alexandra Washington, along with 8th graders Jonathan Allen and Diego Burgess who were nominated for special population academic awards through the National Association of Gifted Children (NAGC). Alexandra received the honorable mention for the national Dr. Martin D. Jenkins Scholar Award. We are very proud of her! It is an honor just to be nominated!
JUST IN - Alexandra applied again and WON the award this year!!! She was honored at the National NAGC Convention in Pittsburgh in November and has been awarded a scholarship to study at Perdue University in the summer of 2026! She is one of only 6 students across the US to be honored. We are SO proud of her and her accomplishments!

GAL students Lucas and Connor Hopkins went into action when they saw a story on the Grief Pantry running low on supplies. They created the "Have a Heart" drive to collect items most needed by families served by the Grief Pantry in Baltimore City. They were able to donate 234 items in just under 2 weeks!
Congratulations to our 4th and 5th grade Math Olympians!
Sixty-three students earned National Awards of Excellence in the Division E (grades 4-6) Math Olympiad Competition, scoring in the top 50% of all participants. They participated in a series of five monthly contests of five problems each, from November through March, plus weekly practice sessions to think creatively and to solve unusual and difficult problems. Math Olympiad served students on over 3500 teams in the US and more than 30 other countries!

Congratulations to our 3 Destination Imagination Teams that qualified for the Global Competition in 2021! This is a very hands-on, creative program. Achieving recognition in a virtual world is AWESOME!
