The History of Franklin Square Elementary Middle School
Franklin Square Elementary School (#95) was constructed in West Baltimore, Maryland in 1960, on the corner of Stricker and West Lexington Streets. The school was built on the site of the former Franklin Square Hospital, which relocated to Baltimore County in the 1950's. After the completion of the construction, the school's dedication ceremony was held on Friday, May 4, 1962. At its opening, Franklin Square served 1,000 scholars in the surrounding community.
Franklin Square was opened under the leadership of Founding Principal, Dr. Delores C. Hunt.
