Adv. Chabane holds an LLB degree from the University of Venda, which he completed in 2010. Adv Nyiko Given Mihlanga is a practicing member of the Johannesburg Society of Advocates.
He was enrolled as a legal practitioner and admitted as an Advocate of the High Court in Polokwane, South Africa. Adv Mihlanga commenced his pupilage / Advocacy training in January 2019 and completed the same with the Polokwane Society of Advocates by passing the National Bar Examination in October 2019.
Adv Mihlanga was employed by the South African Police Service from 2013 to 2019, holding the rank of Constable; after completing his training at the Tshwane Police Academy in 2013, he was absorbed into the railway policing division. During this employment, he was responsible for investigating fraud, corruption, and theft, performing security services, intelligence, and investigations in and around the railway environment, and preventing and combating corrupt activities within the parameters of the railway environment.
He was also responsible for conducting investigations and presenting crime-related activities related to the railway environment and its modus operandi. He was tasked with implementing mandated policing functions as enshrined in the Constitution of South Africa.
