Chromebook laptops are now available to order for our current Y7 students at Blackburn Central High School!

As part of our digital strategy, we aim to move to a model in which all students have their own dedicated school device, which will allow them to access the full suite of school programmes at home and crucially, in their lessons, including Google Classroom and Google Meet for live learning.

The use of Chromebooks will not replace but supplement our existing learning and teaching strategies. Traditional teaching methods still have the most important role and we will continue to develop these; The Chromebooks are another educational tool, not a replacement for these methods. We believe that access to their own Chromebook is an invaluable aid to our students.

Our scheme to support students with their own personal device is a long term one. Attached is all the information you may need to inform your decisions.
