The Bella Coola Community Support Society is located in Bella Coola, British Columbia, Canada.
To this end, we provide counselling and advocacy services, and prevention and public awareness programs aimed at enhancing the quality of life of all community members.
The Bella Coola Community Support Society is a non-profit society and registered charity offering a range of services to the people of the Bella Coola Valley and, to a limited extent, Anahim Lake.
The Bella Coola Community Support Society began in 1983 as the Bella Coola Neighborhood House when a group of people from the Nuxalk Nation and the wider non-Aboriginal community came together over common concerns about the high rates of substance misuse, family violence, and youth suicide. In the 30 plus years since its inception, the Society has grown into a multi-service agency offering a range of services to the whole community.
Funding for our programs comes through the Ministry of Children and Family Development, the Ministry of Housing and Social Development, the Ministry of Public Safety and Solicitor General, Vancouver Coastal Health, Community Living British Columbia, and private and philanthropic donations.
