Meet Mrs Hiler
Hello! I am the 5-12 Band and Choir director at Buckeye Central Local Schools. Previously, I was the choir director and assistant band director at Ontario Local Schools. In 2020 I received my Bachelor's Degree in Music Education from Heidelberg University, and I have just finished my Master's Degree in Music Education from Ohio University in the summer of 2024!
My primary instrument is Trumpet, but I also enjoy playing piano and clarinet. Through instrumental music, I helped to restart the marching band in college under the direction of Jon Waters. Also, I am an active member of the New Washington Town Band and Saluting America's Band Directors Marching Band. With the SABD Band, I have had the opportunity to march in the 2022 Rose Parade in Pasadena, CA and the 2023 Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York City. Vocally, I sing alto in choirs and I currently sing in my church choir. I have even sung internationally when my Collegiate Concert Choir traveled to Budapest, Hungary and Prague, Czech Republic in 2019.
I live just north of town on a few acre farm with my husband, Quinton and our dog and cat, Shelby and Squirt. Aside from music I love nature, gardening, crafting, and animals. You can even find me in a tractor helping on the family farm from time to time!
