It is with great honor and a deep sense of responsibility that I extend my warm greetings to all members of our community as we begin another year together under the banner of the Bangladesh Canada Association of Edmonton (BCAE).
I am truly grateful for the trust placed in me to serve as President of the BCAE Executive Committee (EC) for 2026. Our association has a proud history built on dedication, cultural pride, and community service, and it is my commitment to carry this legacy forward with integrity and purpose.
As we move into 2026, we also aim to take BCAE in a new and meaningful direction. While cultural events will always remain an important part of who we are, our vision is to expand beyond that—by increasing the range and impact of services we provide to the community.
We are fortunate to have a diverse and talented community. One of our key priorities will be to better utilize this collective strength—by creating opportunities for networking, job support, mentorship, and knowledge sharing. Whether someone is new to the city, seeking career guidance, or looking to connect professionally, BCAE should be a platform that supports and connects.
At the same time, we believe that a strong community is built not only on programs, but on how we treat one another. We want to consciously promote a culture where we engage with respect, understanding, and goodwill—placing the interest of the community above division. Differences of opinion will always exist, but mutual respect must remain our foundation.
A key priority for this Executive Committee is also to support and uplift our BCAE Bangla School and our children. They represent our future, and through their learning and participation, we ensure that our roots remain strong even as we grow in a multicultural society.
We are equally committed to promoting and encouraging local talent within our community. By creating platforms for our own artists, performers, and volunteers, we aim to build confidence, foster creativity, and celebrate the richness of our shared culture.
I strongly believe that the strength of our association lies in participation. I encourage all community members to engage, contribute ideas, and take part in our initiatives. Your involvement—whether big or small—is what drives BCAE forward.
As we look ahead, let us move forward with unity, purpose, and a shared sense of responsibility. Together, we can build a community that is not only culturally vibrant, but also supportive, connected, and forward-looking.
Thank you for your continued trust and support. I look forward to working with all of you throughout the year.
Best regards,
Mainul Husain Khan
President of BCAE EC-2026
